The West Hants Access Satellite Clinic will offer same-week appointments for patients residing on the Hants Shore who are without a family doctor or nurse practitioner and are registered on the Need a Family Practice Registry. These clinics will take place on Friday mornings at the Hants Shore Health Centre, offering a limited number of medical appointments on a first-come, first-served basis. This initiative aims to improve access to healthcare and alleviate pressure on local Emergency Departments.
The clinic will accommodate various non-urgent appointment types, including medication refills, ear wax impaction and flushing, non-urgent referrals, routine bloodwork, imaging requests (e.g., X-rays), as well as massage or physiotherapy referrals.
Appointments can be booked by calling the Health Centre 902-633-2110 starting at 9am every Wednesday. Once all available appointments are filled, patients will be advised to call again the following week when the next booking period begins.
Corin Hagmann, Registered Nurse at the Health Centre, will be on-site to support your visit. Dr. David Lapierre will provide care virtually or in person
West Hants Access Clinic Services

Virtual Care Nova Scotia
Community members who access car via Virtual Care Nova Scotia may be referred to the West Hants Access Clinic when in-person care is
required.
VirtualCareNS provides free, online and phone
medical appointments for community members on the Need a Family Practice Registry.

Mobile” Pop-Up Clinic
Our clinic provides this temporary service to ensure we are bridging a gap in primary care services currently
being experienced in our community. It is open to all
community members, with or without a primary care
provider.
These clinics can only address non-urgent health
issues, including but not limited to prescription refills or
renewals, sore throat, earaches, fever, cough, cold or flu symptoms, urinary tract infections, and minor respiratory issues
This clinic is open the last Sunday of each month, with
appointments from 9am to 3:30pm. These appointments cannot be booked in advance.
Women’s Health Clinic
This is a clinic dedicated to providing routine PAPs, STI screening, and contraception for those without a primary care provider.
This clinic is offered the last Thursday evening of each month, with appointments from 5pm to 8pm.Appointments can be booked by calling the West Hants Access Clinic at 902-472-2998
Hants Shore Community Health Centre is seeking a family physician (part-time or full time) and/or nurse practitioner to join our practice consisting of a family practice nurse and supportive administrative staff. We have 1.7 FTE available
This is a lovely, community managed Health Centre, operated by a board of directors. Overhead is extremely low and competitive for the central zone area, and includes billing support, large office space (with windows and a view of the Minas Basin!) a family practice nurse, full EMR access, 2 receptionists, and more. The Health Centre also shares space with a Little Tikes, Moms and Tots and Shoreline After School program. The Health Centre has a large board room, galley kitchen and private back exit. There is also a book lending program and a small busy food bank.
This practice is located in a beautiful rural location just across from the Minas Basin, and is part of a larger group of community-led initiatives. If you are looking for a beautiful location in small, close-knit community 20 minutes from Windsor and 45 minutes outside Halifax, this is the spot for you.
Job Description
· Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
· Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
· Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
· Act as patient’s advocate
· Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations.
· Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public health requirements

Food Drive on the Hants Shore
Thank you so much to the community and DAHS for donating so many items to our Community Food Drive every December. Special thank you to those who continue to donate to keep our shelves full. We have converted our old book shelves with items that will be available to community members to come and pick what is best suited to their needs.
If planning to come in to choose your food items, please call and make arrangements. by contacting the Health Centre at 902-633-2110 to make arrangements to come to the food bank. Once again thank you so much for your support in this wonderful program
