Currently we do not have a family doctor practicing at the Health Centre. We are working with Nova Scotia Health to recruit a primary care practitioner.   We are pleased to announce the appointment of Corin Hagmann, RN as the Family Practice Nurse at the Hants Shore Community Health Centre. While we await the arrival of a family physician or nurse practitioner, Corin will also support the West Hants Access clinic and assist with the provision of satellite clinic services at the Health Centre, ensuring that our patient community continues to receive access to essential clinical services.

What is a Family practice nurse? Family practice nurses, usually Registered Nurses (RNs), are crucial in primary healthcare. They provide health services like preventive screenings, health education, chronic disease management, and therapeutic interventions. Working with family physicians, nurse practitioners, and other providers, they enhance patient care, promote healthy lifestyles, manage chronic diseases, and support patients with complex needs. This collaboration improves access to services and resources, making healthcare delivery more efficient. In short, family practice nurses significantly boost the efficiency, quality, and outcomes of primary health care.

We offer a food bank in the reception area of the Hants Shore Community Health Centre, this is open to anyone who is in need of food. If you or someone you know needs food , we ask that you contact the Health Centre at 902-633-2110 to let us know you are planning to come in and check in with the desk upon arrival.
